Raptor Domain

Raptor Domain is open every day (closed Christmas Day). We have bird presentations at 11.30am and 2.30pm where visitors can have an up close experience with free-flying birds of prey. Volunteer participation throughout the show allows visitors to interact with a range of birds but visitors can also purchase a ticket to hold a Wedge-tailed Eagle at the end of the presentation.

Well worth a visit

"This was an excellent interactive activity with common raptors of Australia. Everybody gets the opportunity to take part in the demonstration and the information from the keepers was valuable."

Fun, interesting and educational

"The Raptor Domain is an excellent interactive experience during our visit we learned about the different birds of prey, their habitats and watched as the keepers interacted with the birds, audience members get the opportunity to be part of the show letting different birds land on their outstretched hands if they wish, a very worthwhile experience for all ages."

Fascinating!

"The Raptor Domain was an incredible experience. The staff who brought the birds out to meet the audience were very knowledgeable and seemed genuinely passionate about these birds. I learnt so much about owls and eagles. My husband was thrilled to hold a wedge-tailed eagle! Well worth a visit if you are on Kangaroo Island 🦅🦘"

Don’t miss this wonderful presentation. Leave time to visit the wildlife centre while you’re there.

"Unmissable experience! The demonstration and explanation of the birds was fascinating. The birds were free to fly around and were trained to return to the keeper, or in some cases, to whoever was wearing a glove. The keepers/presenters/trainers were very knowledgeable. I was most impressed that their top priority was the welfare of the birds. We were lucky enough to be there in the winter with only 8 people in the audience and had such a special experience."
