South Australia's first boutique distillery, Australia's oldest dedicated Gin distillery, Kangaroo Island Spirits are producing award-winning Gin, Liqueurs, Vodka and more recently Whisky utilising local and native ingredients. Most recently released a single-origin Gin called Koala48. The cellar door offers tastings with extensive information about the product and processes in a rustic but personal setting. Enjoy great coffee, a cocktail and delicious food options from our onsite food van in our Gin Garden. Options for group bookings, gin platters and Gin Blending classes, Cocktail Master Classes and Premium Gin Tastings exist through the website.

A highly suggested stop

"On arrival we decided to do a tasting paddle. the setting is particularly attractive and it seemed like a nice idea to sit outside under cover and enjoy the ambience which is exactly what we did. The service was excellent with the person who served us giving a great description of the gins on the paddle, as with all tastings there were some we liked and others we weren't that fussed about. It was a nice way to finish up our morning and I would have to recommend that even if you are not interested in gin, the gardens here are something worth visiting, the fruits trees are stunning."

So disappointing

"What has happened at KIS , staff looked bored and out of a very unfit gym what with the gym pants. Garden looks run down and unloved. , and food was a total disappointment. No new Gin. Could not even look at distillery , no fires on. Just so disappointing . Looks like it is staggering along, waiting to die."

Best spirits on the island.

"This place is great. I'm not a huge gin lover but the staff are so welcoming and knowledgeable. Tried the gin flight and was not disappointed. Also tried some of the liqueurs. We bought gin, vodka and liqueur! Beasties Burger Bar attached to the distillery is the absolute best!!! Loved our burgers and curly fries."

Unmissable experience!!!

"Have been wanting to go here since our last visit to KI in 2021. Finally got our chance today, and we were not disappointed!!! 3 of us had the liquer tasting flight, and all of them loved them. I started with a Sour Cherry cocktail, which was a total flavour sensation, and followed up with two raspberry and lemon cocktails. They were just as delicious, and after trying mine, two more of us ordered cocktails, and my mum ordered a cocktail. All were amazing. The food was tasty. The staff were absolutely fabulous, knowledgeable and great people too. This is an absolute must do for a visit to Kangaroo Island, do yourself a favour and spend some relaxing time enjoying the laid back vibe and excellent product at this gem of a place!!!!"
